Welcome to the website of the NIACE Committee of Enquiry into the state of adult learning in Further Education in England. Led by NIACE, but fully independent, the Committee will examine the effects of current planning and funding strategies and the level of commitment to adult learning in Further Education, with the aims of submitting its findings to the Foster Review on FE, and publishing a substantive report at the conclusion of its work.

It will gather evidence by:

bulletinviting submissions from the FE Sector.
bullettaking witness statements from invited speakers.
bulletcommissioning targeted research.
 
The NIACE Committee of Enquiry will is chaired by Chris Hughes – former Chief Officer of the Learning and Skills Development Agency. Its members include representatives of the Adult Learning Inspectorate, NATFHE (the University and College Lecturers’ Union) and the Association of Colleges (AoC), as well as a range of representatives from specific colleges.
