Why are voluntary and community sector learning consortia important?

There are a number of advantages for working as consortia, or in partnership with others. Some of these benefits are internal to the voluntary and community sector. External drivers are also an influence. The Consortia which Learning from Experience has worked with all cited that the policy climate, and in particular, the way in which funding for learning is now organised, especially from the Learning and Skills Council, was an influencing factor.
