Commission for Disabled Staff in Lifelong Learning

Mark Kaczmarek

Mark joined the DfES Standards Unit in January 2006, to work on implementation of FE workforce reforms, as described in ‘Equipping Our Teachers for the Future – 2004’. Alongside overseeing the development of regulations for new FE teacher qualifications (QTLS), he has led on FE White Paper proposals for leadership and CPD. From March 2006, he has provided the FE lead for the Department’s work on safeguarding. His current role is as Deputy Divisional Manager for FE Workforce Development and Leadership.

Before joining the Unit, Mark was ‘Director, Young People & Skills’ in Government Office for Yorkshire and the Humber (03-06), where he supported development of Connexions services, Local Area Agreements and implementation of the Skills Strategy. Before this, he worked in DfES on development and implementation of the Connexions service (00 – 03) and was Head of Adviser Training in the Employment Service (96-00).
