ALAVA – Adult Learning as an Added Value to the Activities Of Community-Based Non-Governmental Organisations
Aims and objectivesThe ALAVA project designs and provides training and consultancy in various basic skills to socially disadvantaged groups from local communities. The project principally aims to strengthen the capacity of local community organisations adding value to their activities by developing an adult learning dimension. This is achieved through establishing adult learning centres within community-based non-governmental organisations in three enlargement countries - Bulgaria, Poland and Romania.
Activities and lessons learnedTo date the project has had three meetings and ongoing long distance work has focussed on the development of training materials and the piloting of training for disadvantaged groups in Bulgaria, Poland and Romania.

Materials producedTraining materials will be available after piloting has been completed.

Learner involvementLearners (in particular unemployed people, women at risk, young dropouts and minorities) have undertaken training in Bulgaria, Romania and Poland.
