About the organisation

Right People, Right Skills is a training and learning consortium operating across the Black Country. RPRS manages a range of partners who deliver training to the sector on its behalf; mainly concentrating on workforce development and quality assurance. The board consists of representatives from the relevant infrastructure organisation and the four learning partnerships.

Aims and objectives

  • Mission: to provide training and skills development opportunities to voluntary and community sector organisations and its workforce across the Black Country
  • Vision: to contribute to the development of a professional, vibrant and responsive VOLCOM sector that is accomplished and proficient in serving its clients and communities.
  • Values: RPRS values its client focus, friendliness and professionalism, and seeks to continuously improve its services to stakeholders and learners and play an active role in promoting partnership and good practice.

Main activities

Brokerage service for voluntary and community organisations encouraging sector employers to access training. Currently developing VOLCOM training providers consortia for delivering training and learning initiatives.

Main activities

The consortium exists to promote and mould existing provisions, therefore it is not involved in direct delivery. Its main activities are:

  • support;
  • networking;
  • events;
  • advice;
  • research.

Organisations supported

  • Small, medium and large voluntary and community organisations.
  • Up to now approximately 200 organisations have been visited by learning brokers.

Organisational links

VCS frontline and infrastructure organisations

  • Board members are drawn from the four local CVSs (Dudley CVS, Sandwell CVO, Walsall VA and Wolverhampton VSC). Wolverhampton VSC is the host organisation. Brokers work with and through core development staff at each CVS to get referrals.
  • Also links to four Black Country Volunteer Bureaux, through a board member.

  • LSC is observer on the board.
  • Black Country four local Learning Partnerships are Board members.
  • Black Country Womens Network (Inspire - formally BCWDN) is a board member.
