  • To request a training course from the list below to be delivered in-house/on-site for your organisation, contact events@niace.org.uk 
  • Bespoke training events are being run under each of the key themes. 
  • The course dates and venues in the schedule below can be altered depending on demand and requests for in-house training.
  • Courses are free and a one off grant of up to £750 is available for local authorities who send four or more delegates, and who are part of the Skills for Life Support Programme. A proportional amount is available to local authorities who have a small number of staff.

This session builds on the Family Numeracy champions' training developed and delivered in 2008/9 under the Extending the Reach and Improving the Quality of FLLN (ERIQ) and uses the "train the trainers' principle to allow the training materials already developed to be used locally.
It is aimed at providers/practitioners who want to set up a scheme for champions in their organisation, with a focus on family numeracy.

The training will include:

  • Exploring the current training materials for family numeracy champions and identifying how these can be adapted for use with a range of audiences
  • The role of champions and how they can help you reach your target families
