Storytelling as a teaching tool Thursday, July 9, 2009 - 17:15
The power of storytelling as a teaching tool - held by NIACE in Leeds, on Friday 10 July 2009 - demonstrated ways in which storytelling can be used to engage learners, leading them towards reading for pleasure.
The events were delivered by a professional storyteller - who shared a range of stories - and participants were given lesson plans for four lessons and beyond.
The events awere inspired by a free resource called Storytelling, available from the Reading for Pleasure website. The website hosts a range of resources funded by the Department for Business, Innovation and Skills (BIS) and developed by NIACE specifically for practitioners working with adults.
